{Another fancy action}

I have never played quite this much with PS... I like it! I don't often like photo's of myself.. very rare that I feel a good one is captured, but by heck, you can make it nice with this program!!!

{more self portraits}

A lovely friend sent me some new actions... trying them out!!

{self portrait...hmmmm}

Self portrait... self explanatory... just felt like doing it. I'm always behind the camera... so I had a play today. Photoshop is very handy... just to lighten and lighten and lighten to disguise the blotchy skin pigmentation!! :)

{remininscing...}

Just felt like throwing this photo in... we are desperate to get back to this place, it's like heaven on earth! Well, for us Southerners it is!!

We were fortunate enough to go to Cairns 2yrs ago (infact, two years ago today we had arrived in Townsville after a week in Cairns and a few days in Caloundra), and whilst in Cairns, we went on a Reef trip. Cheap boat, long day, but WELL worth the time. We had been on the 'superfast' Cat out to Green Island 2 days before this, and decided that the outer reef was more our scene. We hesitated at spending $300 per person (yes, that much for the kids too) on a reef trip, so we investigated a more 'value for money' option. We found this company fantastic, and at $60 per adult, and children free (they'd never had kids on board before!) we were set to go!!!

Here's a picture of Luka - doing what she loves best... snorkelling at "Breaking Patches" on the Great Barrier Reef.

Happy Birthday Mr 5!!

Levi's birthday is 31st Jan, so the last two years we've had his party at the local pool. We didn't have a party for #1, #2 or #3, so #4 and #5 have been pool parties. Next year won't be a pool party - he can have a break for a bit!! Might have a barby at the beach instead. Here's a couple of photos from his Party, and the next day on his birthday - with his new bike.

Camping

We went camping to Morgans Landing (Coffin Bay National Park) in January - we're not really 'shack' people, nor fans of holidaying with people who live in the same community (no offence to those people who do enjoy it!!), but I guess we like our own company for our breaks, and this is our ideal holiday! Yes, even with NO ensuite it is perfect.

3 little campers - ready and excited to be going!!

Our 'shack'...
Kids playground - early in the morning, who could want anything else!

Boogieboarding the waves - such fun!!

Flying kites on the beach!

Running up and down sandhills...

Practicing to stand up alone!

Sandboarding!!

Yes, we are also patriotic, and proudly fly the flag from our camper - (it actually helps keep the bees and blowies away by flapping in the breeze!)

A lovely relaxing camping trip, looking forward to the next one!

New School Year!!

In our house yesterday, we had 2 very excited children... First day of the new school year for 2010!! I imagine many other households had very excited children also, fortunately for us, ours are not sad at all about going to school, and almost bound out of the car without saying goodbye... apparently there was 'another' little girl like this many many years ago... and her mum doesn't let her forget it!!!

Luka on the first day of Year 2. She's in Ms Daniels class, and it's her last year in JUNIOR primary!! In the next corridor next year we keep being told... Luka is happy with her class, she has some lovely friends in there that haven't been in the same class at all yet during her time at school... finally she says!!!

Levi, brand new schoolkid, started Reception, and is in Ms Halls class, he's very happy that he's got lots of mates in there, and gets to do all sorts of 'cool' stuff. Up at 7am, dressed and ready on the first morning... lets see if THAT lasts 13yrs...

I smile when I look at this photo. So grown up, so capable, and so looking forward to being at school. Apparently when their sandwiches are mixed up and put in the 'wrong' lunchbox at home, they'll be able to just swap it at school, so 'don't worry mum, we'll sort it out' was told to me!
